New Zealand Young Leaders Day 2012

Wow! what a day it was.We had an opportunity to go to the New  Zealand Young Leaders Day at the Telstra Clear Stadium in Manukau.

When every one of the Leaders came to school, Miss Waetford told my dad that he could drive us to the Telstra Clear Stadium, then he just started getting cheeky to Miss Waetford. He asked where we wanted to go and someone in the background said to Hamilton.

Just when it was 8 o'clock I told Isi that I was going to get some refill to write all the facts that I needed. So Isi and I went to Mr Furivai's class to get the refill and the camera so that we could take some pictures of the stadium and the speakers that were going to speak about being leaders.

As we got into the van we were all terrified of all the people that were going to be there.

We were off! We were terrified as we went into the motorway.

When we got there, we were amazed at all the people arriving. We had to go to the info desk so that we could get these bands to show that we are part of  a school.

The hosts were Matt Gibb and Whitney Tuitasi. The first speaker was Sam Johnson. He was the man or should I say young man that had helped to clean up Christchurch and the Japan Flood and Earthquake.

The second speaker was Dave Atkinson. He is the most funniest man on Earth. When he was 19 yrs old he went snowboarding with his friends and he wanted to fit in so that he can look cool so then he jumped a 40ft long jump and landed 20 ft over on his butt. He also told us that pooed his pants when he fell on his butt. Everybody started laughing as hard as they could.

The fourth speaker was Cam Calkoen. He is a disabled person but he still joins in the athletics and he sponsored and helped to build a Hospital for disabled people. He also told us that he was on his way to New York for the Athletics.

The next speaker was Dillion Boucher. He plays in the Auckland Pirates. He gave us a lot of advice to never give up and to keep training.

After Dillion Boucher spoke it was Annah Mac's turn to feed us with her advice. She told us that if you are a loner than you should throw yourself into everything. As she finished off her last sentence everyone wanted her to sing us a song. We got some footage of her singing but we don't know if it was a good footage.

It was a very fun day but the best thing about that day was coming back to school. We were really noisy and everyone was mocking each other in a good way. Isi and I caught Irasa staring at herself in the mirror and I shouted the mirror might break.
